The Carnival Dream will introduce the first laser show at sea on a North American cruise ship when it enters service on Sept. 21.
The 15-minute shows will use laser technology to project patterns of blue, red and green into the nighttime sky, choreographed to music by rock artists such as Styx, Rush, Van Halen, Boston and Pink Floyd, Carnival said.
Carnival said that four all-weather LaserNet ScannerPro lasers will be positioned atop the Dream’s lido deck. The Seaside Theatre’s jumbo screen will display custom-designed graphics and the artists’ music videos during the show.
The 130,000-ton Dream, Carnival Cruise Lines’ largest ship, will sail a series of Mediterranean cruises before repositioning to New York for its North American debut in November.
The 3,646-passenger ship will begin year-round Caribbean cruises from Florida’s Port Canaveral in December.
